My Students

Every morning we are greeted by a loving group of students who are eager to learn. They absolutely love reading workshop and are always excited for a new day of school.

We teach a Kindergarten inclusion class in Brooklyn.

Our kindergarten class is populated by a very diverse group of students - all with their very own bright personalities! However, one thing they all have in common is that they absolutely love coming to school and are always eager to learn! We have a nurturing classroom with the goal of truly fostering a love for learning in the little ones! Everyone has different learning needs in our classroom, thus all lessons are specifically differentiated to reach all students in the classroom. Our students have definitely embraced the idea that each one of us is unique and special in our own way, yet we are all equal and treated with the same love and respect.

My Project

The book bins requested on my project will be given to all the students. Each student will receive their own personal book bin, where they will keep their own personal reading material as well as reading tools. The book bins help the little readers build a sense of ownership and responsibility. They will be responsible for keeping all their reading material in order and building their very own personal library. The book bins are very effective in fostering a love for literacy. The students love taking care of their very own personal library. As the year progresses they receive more reading material to add to their book bin. The laminator will also be used to help create a very personalized reading workshop in our classroom. I look forward to creating books with the students and laminating them so they will last forever. Student's will than have books that we have written as a class together to read. The laminator will also be used for protecting student created reading material.

Donations towards our reading workshop project will improve our classroom by building a dream library for a kindergarten classroom.

Children know when people have a genuine interest in helping them to learn and grow to be the best people they can be. All the materials requested help create a classroom environment where students are aware that their teachers and loved ones truly are invested in their learning experience.
