This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am looking for tools to get first graders reading with their whole bodies!

Research shows that children with rhythm are better readers with fluency because they read with the same rhythm they play or dance.

The silk scarves and hoops will allow us to create sing-song rhymes or rhythms to sing and dance, too.

Another way to become a reader is to read outloud to a good listener. Hand puppets make great listeners! But, they also make great readers who can read with expression and different voices.

Generally, my goal is to make reading the simple books they are reading more fun! Music and puppets are fun, with a secret purpose.
