My Students

As a teacher in a Title I school district, my students are faced with challenges in their everyday lives. I have noticed that coming to school for some of my students has provided them a sense of belonging and they receive the attention they need.

My students are caring, thoughtful students that provide one another the encouragement and support we sometimes need.

My students enjoy seeing one another succeed. Their love for reading is heartwarming and their drive to learn makes my job that much more rewarding.

Based on some of my students socioeconomic status, it is hard for them to always have the resources they need to learn at their best ability. I sometimes wish there was more I could do for my students, but I only have so much control on how I can impact their lives. I am hoping to have an impact on my students, that will help my special education students succeed just as well as their general education peers.

My Project

Being able to provide my students with new literature and resources to understand their grade level curriculum at their independent level is what each teacher strives for. As students progress into higher grade levels the curricula becomes more challenging and especially for special education students. I intend to eliminate frustration and give my students the opportunity to achieve in a classroom the same way as their peers.

I feel being able to add these resources to our classroom library will give my students the opportunity to expand their minds in the word of literature, as well as build self confidence.
