My current students are fourth grade super stars! I teach reading, writing, and social studies for two groups of students. During this current school year, I teach e-learning and face to face students.
We are filled with friendly, caring faces that want to find happiness and adventure in reading.
We believe anyone can read if given the right tools and environment. The best way to do that is to make learning come alive in the classroom through classroom transformations.
We work on projects, writing essays and read books to master the many standards presented to us! We try to learn in as many ways as possible to make our experiences memorable!
My Project
Imagine walking down the hallway at school. Dreading the routine of getting out the same old textbook, reading a story, and answering questions. Not my students! You can help my students walk into different lands each time they open the door.
My vision is to create my room where they'll be stuck in Dinosaur World trying to escape from dinosaurs by answering questions and problem solving dinosaur classifications.
During the next class transformation, they'll walk into a pizzeria where students can learn about author's purpose with book tastings. If they make it out, they can enter a video game in which they'll have to answer questions correctly to proceed to the next level. If you donate to my project, I'll be able to transform my classroom into these places. For example, Dinosaur World will have hanging vines as they enter...waterfalls in the corner....dinosaur footprints walking through the room. The pizzeria will be filled with pizza store backdrops, red checkered tablecloths and hanging pizzas. They can play a pie-in-the-face game while they answer questions correctly to bring fun and excitement to their lessons. In the video game classroom, I'll use a tunnel for their entrance. They'll walk into hanging stars, character specific decorations, and ride scooters to get across the levels by answering questions correctly.
