My Students

The class is made up of students in a K-2 setting. They are sweet and energetic and look forward to coming to school each and everyday. When they come to school there is nothing but smiles, because they know that they are here to learn and do their best! Each and everyday and in all academic areas the students in my class demonstrate our schools values!

The students in this class are all in a high needs district.

These kids are all on the autism spectrum and don't learn the same way students in the general education population learn. These students strive to do their best in all challenges throughout the academic day.

My Project

Students who are challenged in reading and literacy don't often find it easy to pick up a book. By providing books that are appropriate, leveled and engaging will a student pick up a book.

Books that maintain engagement and can be catered into a hands-on experience bring out more potential in a student.

By providing books for the students that can extend into any subject area will students be more excited to read and participate in other academic areas.

The books provided in this project, such as Flat Stanley, can help my class access other areas of the curriculum by keeping them engaged.
