My Students

My students are 9 and 10-year-old beautiful children. They are just starting fifth grade and on the way to entering a new era; junior high school.

"If we teach today as we taught yesterday, we rob our children of tomorrow." John Dewey.

They are wonderful people with varied talents and together they work amazingly well to help each other reach goals. Our school is an inner-city, multicultural, low-income, Title I school. I hope to help them improve their lives.

My Project

Students will finally return in September to class in-person. Our school building has been practically empty for more than a year. Its time to spruce up the classroom with new books and a clean inviting environment.

Reading is a major focus this year.

Creating an inviting and motivating library is at the top of my list of things to do. No one wants to return to a dull, old dreary environment. A welcoming, fresh and new classroom library center will help entice students to want to explore it. New updated and trending books will help spark students' interest in reading. Finally, and interactive reading bulletin board will help students share their thoughts and feelings about the books and further motivate each other to continue on building their love of reading.
