My Students

I am a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with several challenges, both in and out of the classroom.

My students are an amazing group of third graders who are eager to learn and explore.

They are living a growth-mindset philosophy, embracing the new learning experiences and challenges and are ready to stretch and grow their brain muscles. Children are like sponges, ready to soak up everything. It is my pleasure and duty to help shape their precious minds to love learning and be successful.

My Project

Scholastic News and Storyworks are great magazines that bring together current events and standards together. Students need to have a vested interest in what they read. These magazine subscriptions will provide them with weekly high interest, rigorous text to support their daily learning. Students will be able to read these texts both at home during independent and small group reading time and take the magazines homes to share with their families.

With these subscriptions, my students can be connected to the world around them through the text they read.

We excited about being able to dive into a variety of fiction and nonfiction literature to become more vested readers.

Mrs. Williams Whitewater Academy Grades 3-5

Celebrate Black teachers and kids! This project supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of students are Black.
