Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This past school year our district has been implementing LETRS training for all teachers. LETRS is a training course delving into the literacy skills teachers need to teach the why, how, and what. I would love to have additional materials in my classroom to help facilitate those students that are struggling with reading.

I have included a program from Really Great Reading called Blast Foundations.

Blast includes lessons for targeted instruction in phonemic awareness, letter knowledge, phonics, and high-frequency words. I have asked for the teacher and student manuals, the student letter kits (which allow for hands-on instruction), and the Countdown mats (which allow me to take the student letter kits down a level for students who need kindergarten instruction).
