Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a Title I School located in the Bronx.

Our student population consists of diverse backgrounds, many students receive free lunch and come from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Our students are hard workers and eager to learn. Our school takes pride in building self-esteem and leadership qualities. For example, we have many students involved in a self-run Reading Ambassador Program within the school. Equipping them with diverse text will only further develop their reading skills. Please help us to further our reading skills!

My Project

Creating Super Readers . . . Every child should have the chance to become a super a reader.

Storyworks supports students by allowing them access to read interactively, read authentic texts and have access to multiple texts.

Storyworks provides students and teachers quick access to read alouds, paired texts, plays, non-fiction, articles, fiction, infographics, debates, and visual text. By embedding story works into our reading, we can provide students with opportunities for speaking, such as class discussions, expressing opinions, debating, and persuading.

Our students are hungry to read and love to read all genres, Storyworks allows us the opportunity to provide students to quick access to all genres of text.

We have limited libraries and we are constantly looking for ways to build up libraries and providing students with multiple texts. Storyworks is a great way to get texts into the hands of students.
