Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are enthusiastic learners. They devour books, they love to write stories, and they are complete characters despite some of the the daily obstacles they face outside of school.

My students look forward to creatively bringing their writing ideas to life.

If you peek through our window during our writing time, you will see a lot of talking. My students brainstorm and collaborate at their tables. They bounce ideas off of one another. You can see their imagination at work. It is what I imagine a writer's meeting for a TV show looks like! The result of this talkative yet creative class is great stories that they cannot wait to share.

My Project

Having these books in my classroom library will help make my print rich classroom even more inviting. Literacy is the foundation for all learning. It is important for my students to have a love of reading. I know that a love of reading can be nurtured by having a variety of books that appeal to the many different personalities in my classroom.

Our class read aloud time on the carpet is sacred.

One great story can spark an interest in the character, setting, or plot, as well as fuel creative writing. Please help me share my love of reading with my little scholars!
