My Students

"Reading gives us someplace to go when we have to stay where we are" In my classroom, I will begin the year implementing Daily 5 and would love to have tools to assist in helping my firsties during our Guided Reading time.

Although I have not met my first grade students just yet, I know that I will have a diverse group of readers.

Some will be high readers, some will be low. During Guided Reading, I will be able to read closely with each student and guide their learning and sight word recognition.

My Project

My students will be able to use the Whisper Phones to read aloud and hear themselves for fluency. The magnetic dry erase boards will be used for sight word practices. Along with the magnetic dry erase boards, students will be able to use the magnetic letters to assemble their words for practice. For a little added fun, the LED finger lights will be a fun way to practice reading strategies, such as touching each word as we read.

This donation will greatly improve my classroom.

As a new teacher, I have lacked the resources to make my guided reading table everything it could be. I am excited to get the opportunity to use these tools to help my students become better readers!
