Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Our students are a bright and creative bunch who love hands-on activities. Our school as well as most of the children is located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Our students come from diverse cultures and economic backgrounds. These students not only learn from their teachers, but they learn from each other. As early childhood education teachers, our class is constantly using books to read and partner read. Having bins to organize all of our wonderful books will help us and the students stay organized and be able to find books they want to read, as well as books on their reading level! The kids love to read and we hope to be able to continue providing organized book bins for our students with your help!
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
