My Students

Have you ever had a hard time learning to read? Well my students are struggling teenagers in an 8th grade Special Needs class in a high poverty area.

They currently are reading several grade levels below their grade and are majorly struggling to survive in school and life.

I have just recently been trained in an awesome program that we help teach these students to read better. Unfortunately our funding has been majorly cut and we need help. To use this program to it's fullest potential I would need a projector. This will allow students to view all the materials on our screen and in an animated fashion. This will be sure to hold their attention. Struggling in the 8th grade is something these students are ashamed of. They try and hide their inabilities but I truly think this program will give them what they need and they will be sure to succeed. The district has purchased the Wilson kit but not a projector.

My Project

This projector will help by projecting the reading program so all in the class can see. It has been proven to work for middle school students. It also has an animated part to it so the students will find that it will hold their attention while learning.

Through your generous donation you will be helping struggling readers for years to come.

Wilson Reading is a wonderful program and has helped many students. This project will further enhance this program and give the gift of reading to some students in great need. It is through donors like you that our students succeed!
