My Project

Reading is a skill that is involved in all aspects of our society. The skills with reading are practiced throughout the day in both formal and informal methods. Many of my past and present students feel that reading is also the most frustrating set of skills that they must master during the day and because each student has different needs it became challenging for all.

I have discovered that students struggle to read and need to have modifications when they have been introduced to multiple languages as they develop or when a learning disability is present.

Pen Scanner, Text to Speech Device adapts text to allow students to use auditory learning styles as they read including translating the text to the students home language. The Text to speech device will also allow students with disabilities to listen to the text as a support while reading.
