Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are excited to be in our classroom. Majority of the students spent the last year learning remotely and reading books on line. Our class library was dispersed last year, and many of my leveled books are gone. The students need books in their hands to read. I am hoping to raise some funds to buy books for the class library.

My Project

My students need reading material that are interesting and engaging. My class library lacks beginning to read books(Levels A-E). These books will support learning phonics and sentence structure.

The books will open the students up to new experiences.

I have many students who are emergent readers, and are still grasping sight words. The books will provide them with basic sentence structure and sight word usage that support my guided reading lessons.

These new books will give my students the ability to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own reading level. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.
