My Students

The students in my classes are a diverse group, from a multitude of backgrounds. Some are from families where they will be the first to attend college, while others are from families where paying the monthly bills is a challenge.

All students deserve an opportunity to create skills that they can take with them into the work force or to college.

They are eager for life skills that can help them, as they finish high school and move forward in their lives.

My Project

Each year I teach an Advanced Placement Psychology class to help students learn a new content, try out a college-level class, and attempt to earn college credit through a national exam. Students spend 180 days studying the mind, brain, personality, senses, and emotions through this course.

These books will provide choice texts for the Advanced Placement Psychology research project that is a course requirement.

Students must read a nonfiction book about a psychological topic of their choosing then students create a research paper of the information provided in the book and its accuracy and life-applications. While we have some books available in my classroom library right now, we are in need of more options and modern content. The book choices in this project will create a wider set of options for the students in this rapidly growing course.
