My Students

I have the greatest class of kids. They are the kind, caring, and compassionate. They go out of their way to help one another and to rejoice in each other's successes. I couldn't ask for a kinder group of students.

My students are eager to learn and love to explore learning through various activities and projects.

We do a lot of collaborative and hands on learning. You never know what you will find when you walk into room 105.

This is our home away from home. We refer to our class as our Ohana, which means family in the Hawaiian culture. We operate under this theme at all times. This is truly a family.

My Project

I am requesting class sets of the books: There's a Boy in the Girls' Bathroom and Wonder. Novels can allow us to learn valuable lessons and empathy through the experiences of the book's characters. Both of these books demonstrate how we can miss the beauty in others if we are unwilling to look beyond the surface.

My classroom's theme is Ohana, which means friendship in the Hawaiian culture.

It is my highest priority to teach my children to be kind and accepting of all of their classmates, and eventually, of all people.

Novels are a safe environment in which to show students how their words and actions can impact the life on another. My hope is to change the world, one child at a time, and to create family wherever we go.
