My Project

My students love reading, but easily tire of sitting in stiff chairs for long periods of time. My classroom is shared between three teachers, all of which utilize d.e.a.r. time as a key component to their curriculum. D.e.a.r. time stands for "drop everything and read". By including cozy flexible seating, students can find the most comfortable position to lose themselves in their books.

In our classroom, we have created a coffee shop atmosphere / vibe.

This is done intentionally to encourage students to get comfortable and feel safe. By supporting this project, you help ensure that three different teachers can create a reading nook in which even the most challenging students can thrive.
