My Students

I am a first year teacher trying to build a safe and welcoming environment for my students. I have not met any of my students yet but am anxiously awaiting our first day of school. Help my make this school year the best year ever!

My students are starting their middle school journey!

I cannot wait to start this journey with them. I hope that I will be able to provide them everything they need to be successful. Thank you for all your help!

My Project

This reading nook is going to be a comfortable but practical space for students to retreat to in order to read their favorite books. The benches will offer seating to several students as well as storage for books and pillows. The chalkboard paper decal will be used to create a "Reading Graffiti" wall where they will have the opportunity to write an inspirational quote from their books.

This space fits perfectly with the mature relaxing theme of my classroom.

Having an escape for students will help them build stamina for reading. They will feel safe and hopefully eager to have time to read in this space.
