My Students

My school is situated along the Avenue of the Giants in Humboldt County, California. This beautiful community is a magical, forested setting found on the inside of the Redwood Curtain where everyone is family. These students have attended school together their entire lives. They know and love each other as only a small community can.

My students are dedicated and hardworking.

They want to gain the best education so that they can see the world, discover themselves, and return to this beautiful community to make it a better place. They need the necessary materials to make their dreams become a reality.

My Project

My students are avid readers. They love my classroom library but the selection is slim and they need some new choices. I have asked my students for some specific titles that they are interested in reading and I have included these titles, as well as a few of my own.

I would also like to give them a corner where they have flexible seating options for when they have free reading time.

My students will work with a renewed focus and determination when they know that they can retreat to the reading nook with a new book when they have finished.

I want to give my students a safe, relaxing environment where they want to spend time. These materials will make it possible for me to provide this environment for them. Thank you for considering my project.
