My Students
I am so blessed to be able to work with my 4th graders. A typical day in our classroom is spent working toward our goals to master the material and have fun while we do it!
My students are very active 9 and 10 year old children.
Many of my students come from families where parents are commuting great distances to provide for their children. We have many free and reduced lunch families that attend our school, and have many children that also need support for the basics of food and shelter.
My Project
4th grade is the year of building on their past foundation. Students are now required to comprehend more nonfiction articles, to be able to compare and contrast multiple articles on the same topic, and for that I need help to provide real life examples for my students.
This class set of Scholastic News will be able to provide a year's worth of weekly reading for my students.
Every week each student will receive a gift from you in the mail. Every week they will be able to practice those reading strategies and have the opportunity to learn more about the world through articles that are geared directly for 4th graders. Please help.
More than a third of students from low‑income households
