My Students

This is my first-year teaching, and I am very excited! Our school is full of energetic and eager-to-learn kids. Many of my students in our Brooklyn neighborhood have been greatly affected by COVID-19 and had many family members out of work. For some kids, their time at school is their favorite part of their day. My students need a loving and caring teacher. I would like to set my students up to be successful in class which will enable them to transition back into a school year with the supplies and tools they will need to be successful.

My Project

As I welcomed my first classroom back to in-person learning, I am trying to assemble a variety of materials to address my students' learning styles and emotional well-being. The transition has not been easy for my students and me. My classroom is full of children who come from different cultures and backgrounds. I want to create a classroom that emphasizes diversity and addresses the needs of every learner. I want to create a classroom where we can support our mental health and learn together.

We need fun and engaging books!

I would love to get some popular book titles to spark an interest in reading. The Teachers Pay Teachers gift card will be perfect to get materials to follow up our book reading. We do need some other classroom related materials and reward charts to see our progress. My focus is on making my room a community of learners for many years to come. Thank you for your support!
