Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My class has great students. They are excited to be attending school this year in person. We have spent the first days of school getting to know each other and have had great participation.

All students have completed a class job application, listing experience and reasons why they should be hired.

Everyone is an active part of our class. We generated class guidelines and students try their best to adhere to them. We are having a great time!

My Project

Children are asking to read all about it. Our classroom library needs some updating. This year, we walked into a classroom with minimal books. I am working on getting a classroom library set up with a complete inventory that students can scan, check out, and borrow.

I have surveyed the children in our class and these are some of the titles they have tasked me to go find.

I have asked friends and family for donations and have a small start. Students are drawn to more current titles as well as award-winning books. I believe the child who thinks they don't like reading hasn't found the right book and I intend on helping them find it.
