Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach 60 fourth grade students Reading and Writing in a Title I school in Thornton, Colorado. The school has no library, and the local library that was housed on our school's campus just moved taking away student access to books along with it. In my school, the best, and usually only way to get students excited about reading, and get books in their hands, or listening to audiobooks, is for teachers to provide a rich and robust classroom library, and technology needed for students to access books online. My students deserve the same chance to fall in love with reading that I did, and this project will help them do that!
