This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Some of my students this year are non-English speakers who need maximum support while being fully immersed into an English-only environment. The materials in this project are geared towards exposing these students to the language through the use of games, school-to-home folders, a phonics game, timers and visually appealing resources. Students will be using the materials to develop English vocabulary and strengthen their use of grammar and syntax. Students will be able to utilize the materials during small group instruction and eventually through independent partner work to build their phonemic awareness.

English language learners need so much support in order to be able to participate in the classroom.

They need a variety of visual supports to help them, not only learn a new language but to communicate meaningfully with those around them. Help me help my students to develop their voices as English language learners.
