My Students

The students in my class are incredible. I service both general education and special education first graders and they are a joy! While adapting to remote learning they have remained positive and constantly leave me in awe of how well they picked up the use of technology and maintained their love of learning!

My students are bucket fillers, always looking for ways to pick each other up and bring a smile to those around them.

They definitely make me smile every day with how hard they work and how much they care. This year has been nothing short of a challenge and in the face of every new obstacle thrown at them they manage to overcome and rise to the occasion without fail!

My Project

COVID has not been easy on any of us and somehow in the face of all the challenges in the world my first graders still come online or in person willing to learn every day! They try their best behind google meets and masks to learn the fundamentals and most importantly how to read! So many of them have made such progress this year and are really starting to become life long readers!

Something my students are really lacking this year is the access to paper based materials such as books!

My students are starting to learn how to read but after hours of learning on the iPad want a break. I am hoping to provide books to my students as a way for them to build at home libraries and make reading FUN. The books you'd help to fund in this projects are materials meant to be given to students to use and own! The books included are some classics that would be the beginnings of creating what will hopefully grow to become their at home libraries!
