My students are special because they are hardworking, driven and fun. I work in a Title 1 school, with a predominantly Asian immigrant population. The vast majority of the school population are first generation immigrant families who understand the importance of education, and they work very hard to make sure their children get a quality education.
My students try their best at everything they do.
They work well together and they are supportive of each other, just like a family.
My Project
The students in my first grade class are learning how to read. They needs lots of hands-on reading activities in order for them to be able to manipulate letters, words and sounds. I have asked for The Classroom Magnetic Letter Kit, the Giant Magnetic Words Kit, Magnetic Word Builders and the Magnetic and Wipe Board in order for students to have the opportunity to work together and build words, and eventually full sentences. This activity will help them with spelling and writing, as well as reading. It is important for students to have a strong phonetic awareness in order for them to be able to manipulate sounds.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." Nelson Mandela
The majority of students in my class are English Language Learners and I ordered the Read Along Listening Center because it'll be a tremendous asset to our class. It will help the children hear the words clearly while they read along. Thank you!
