This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I want to show my students that reading can be fun! I am a fourth grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher. Our school is primarily made up of low socio-economic families who need a lot of assistance academically. Our library is very limited. Your help will ensure that my students will get an opportunity to experience reading one of the greatest children's classics, Charlotte's Web. You will make it possible for them to jumpstart their journey on the road to reading many more classics in their academic future.

I teach at a Title I school; each child has difficulties at home.

Many of our students population participates in the free and reduced-price National School Breakfast and Lunch Program. Funds received for being a Title I campus are used to impact all students enrolled.

My Project

I have requested fifty copies of the novel, Charlotte's Web, to improve literacy. I think it will open my students' eyes up to the world of books and show them that reading can indeed be fun! As a teacher, it is my duty to plant seeds of inspiration in our nation’s most vulnerable children. We need to inspire children to be lifelong readers through the power of choice.
