My Project

I am being tasked with conducting a novel study during my MTSS (multi-tiered system of support) class. I am a social studies teacher and want student to learn about history while they are reading. Help me get a class set of The Witch of Blackbird Pond for myself and my fellow social studies teachers.

Students will learn about the historical context of the novel and how that influences the events in the story.

The Witch of Blackbird Pond is about a young girl in the Connecticut Colony in 1687 who is accused of witchcraft. Students will explore how she deals with this major conflict and how she struggles to adapt to the new culture after immigrating from Barbados.
