My Project

My students come from various backgrounds and ethnic groups, but they all have the same goal, and that is to learn something new everyday. The books I chose will be used to increase their love of reading and also give them an understanding and acceptance of who they are individually.

Since my students are constantly asking about injustice and racism, I felt the books I chose will help answer many of their questions, books like "Stamped (for kids): Racism, Antiracism, and You," I feel it's important to allow students to choose books they love, that way I know they will read to enjoy and not read because they are being forced.

Right now we have about five books in our class library, so funding our project will help build strong readers and future leaders.
