This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Getting children to read and write for fun can sometimes be a challenging task. Most children lose focus after 5 minutes of reading. Some may even be excellent readers but do not comprehend what they read. Then there are those that are below grade level and struggle with reading and writing.

I teach second grade students, which at this age have already learned the basics of reading such as phonics and phonological awareness.

I teach in a large school with a large amount of students in each grade level. We live in a military and growing community.

My Project

As the new school year approaches I want my daily 5 stations to be ready for my students to get them motivated from day one. I will use these storage bins to organize work on writing and word work so that the students can have easy access to the folders. These folders consist of reading games that I hand made. To name a few; Di-graph bingo, Word Family, Scoop and Spell, and many board games. The work on writing bins will hold papers, envelops, card stock, journals, etc to make writing fun.

This project is so important to my future students for years to come to help build stamina.

Reading and writing is fun and I want my students to love it as much as I do. These bins will help organize and keep in good shape all the hard work I put into these folders for my students. I am extremely excited to share with you how this project turns out and I am pretty sure my students will love the EASY access to these materials.
