This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students struggle in reading. There are plenty of factors why the students are challenged with this. Many of them missed the days where they are suppose to learn the basic of reading.
Reading books will bring them to different places.
My Project
Students in 1st grade are all below reading level at the beginning of the school year. This pandemic make it more difficult for the students to have engagement in Reading because we can't let them do group activities. This situation make it more difficult for them to be proficient readers.
Reading is the foundation of learning.
Reading is the best tool for success. If the students can't read then they can't do all the tasks in all subject areas. Once the students in first grade acquired the reading foundation skills then they can easily accomplish the task expected of them to do.
