Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

No doubt, teaching in NYC during a pandemic has truly changed the landscape of the teaching profession in tremendous ways. Because of the pandemic, we are experiencing students with significant delays in reading that now require intervention services to help fill the education gap that has been created due to covid.

By having a U shaped table, it will allow me to monitor and assess my students doing instruction.

My lessons are explicit, teacher-led, multisensory activities that meet different learning styles to engage all my students. Being able to actively work with each of my students during the lesson will allow for me to help them reach their goal of becoming good readers. My students come to me at least two to three grade levels below where they should be and lack confidence. They come to me daily for reading intervention services and enjoy their time with me. By the end of the year, they have made amazing gains due to their dedication and their love of the SPIRE reading program.

Having my project funded will help enhance the learning experience for my students and lead them into reading success.
