Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My kindergarteners are special because they come from diverse backgrounds, and they’re excited to learn and explore the world through both languages.

My students bring unique perspectives to the classroom, and their enthusiasm for discovering new things is infectious.

By supporting their bilingual development, we’re not just teaching them a language—we’re helping them build confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills that will benefit them for years to come.

"La Oruga Muy Hambrienta" / "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle - This colorful, engaging book teaches days of the week, counting, and the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly, all in both languages.

"El Gato con Sombrero" / "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss - A fun, rhyming story that supports language development and engages children with its playful narrative and whimsical illustrations.

These bilingual books will support our students in developing a solid understanding of vocabulary and sentence structure in both English and Spanish. By having access to stories in two languages, students can build confidence in their reading skills and make connections between the languages.
