Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My third graders are eager to become global citizens and learn about the world around them. These thoughtful, curious, inquisitive young scholars and scientists are hungry for learning. They enjoy creative brain breaks, challenging real-world math problems, and critical thinking. Above all, they value being kind and being fair. I have never been prouder of a group of students.

We are a Title I public school in eastern Las Vegas full of kind, thoughtful, inquisitive young learners.

Our inclusion classroom welcomes a plethora of different types of learners and embraces all.

My Project

With the winter season setting in and a variety of holidays setting in, my students are eager to learn more about the world around them. They would love nothing more than for me to stop teaching them, ignore them completely, and give them an entire day to cuddle up with a good book and some hot chocolate.

My students are pretty aware of their own cultural backgrounds but don't have a lot of information about how holidays are celebrated around the world.

Help me close this informational gap by providing my students with fiction and nonfiction books celebrating various holidays from around the world.

With your generous support, my students can learn more about Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Diwali, Sukkah, Passover, Chinese New Year, el Dia de Los Muertos (the day of the dead), and more.
