My Students
My students are from the south side of Chicago. They live in a neighborhood that is plagued with violence. They face adversity almost on a daily basis, especially in school struggling with reading. These students are very resilient! They take the challenges that come their way with stride, striving to be better daily!
Over the past year, scholars have really taken their learning to the next level.
These students have taken responsibility for their learning and their effort is paying off!
My Project
These headphones will make a major difference in the Read 180 classroom. Students need to be able to listen to modeled examples of how to pronounce words and fluent reading. Students also need to be able to record themselves reading to improve their fluency. Not only will students listen to modeling of words, they will be listening to themselves read words and texts.
Students hearing themselves read to improve competence in not only reading words but comprehending what is read.
This is what Read 180 is built on! These headphones will help students gain confidence in reading and understanding texts.
