Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Data from last year's reading assessments show that most students are at least one grade level behind in reading. Data from my graduate courses state that we are producing students who know how to read, but they do not LOVE to read. Therefore, they only read the minimum to get by. The materials I have requested: comfy cute chairs, a wall decal, lights, and foam mats will create a perfect reading spot that will inspire and motivate my students to read.

Creating a reading corner shows your child that you value reading and encourages them to practice their literacy skills.

It also serves as a reminder for parents and caregivers to create room in the day to read with our children. I envision my students not only learning to read, but loving to read in this area. We would really appreciate you helping us make this vision come true.
