My Project

I am requesting a few items that will make my room feel a bit more comfortable, inviting, and functional for students. I provide literacy intervention for grades Kinder through third in a small group setting. I service four to six students at a time routinely throughout the school day. I move from station to station and need comfortable seating for myself and students especially when I administer assessments one-on-one, so the various chairs and mobile table I am requesting would hopefully help alleviate some struggles. I also have to handle different materials between each group and do a lot of prep between home and work, and need to transport to my vehicle and up and down stairs so the cart would be very useful. I often have to leave valuable items at work and need to lock them up in the closets so the cable locks would be beneficial.

I need simple solutions to make my room more functional as well as inviting.

The interchangeable welcome signs would be a great way to address this. I do not have time to put up seasonal decorations but I know the kids like them. Sometimes they do not want to come to reading group because they are truly struggling so any little thing that can make the space look more pleasant is helpful. I often use timers for practicing reading fluency and decoding skills so I would love to have a large visible timer for the students (since now I only use my phone).

These items, although they do not seem as beneficial as the big ticket items other teachers request, would really make a difference in my room.
