My Project

I am requesting a variety of Squishmallows, two floor cushions and a pillow for our reading program.

The Squishmallows will be used in our Accelerated Reading program.

Students have reading goals and the top goal earners will earn a Squishmallow as a prize. Some of the goals that students can reach to earn a prize are: most growth, most books read, highest average score and most words read. Having a well sought out prize encourages my students to keep reading. In addition, because of the prize categories, students continue to read for content and accuracy so they continue to read books that are challenging.

The floor cushions and pillow will be used in our library for a comfortable seating area. This will encourage students to keep reading since they will have an inviting area to read. It is important to keep kids engaged as we are getting close to the end of the school year.
