This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

5...4...3...2...1...Blast off!!! Star Ship Silberstein in route to planet Scholar! This year our students will explore the universe of learning as "Our Stars Shine BRIGHTER" and we prepare them for college. We start each day with excitement to get students ready for the rigors of the day.

I serve in a Title I school in south Dallas.

With 100% of my class qualifying as high poverty and "at-risk," it is essential that I provide them the best educational experiences I possibly can. My scholars are fun, energetic, creative, loving children that need as much support, guidance, and love as I can give them. Providing a safe, organized, accessible environment is the first step in ensuring that my students are excited and comfortable expressing themselves, taking risks, and growing. This year is critical in their reading development, and a literacy filled environment will help us prepare them for college.

My Project

My students are going to be experiencing a great deal of change in the next few weeks. In order to support them through this change they need the resources listed to jump right into reading instruction. The word work and comprehension centers will give them them ability to work independently during Reading Center rotations, while the library books will give them immediate access to books that are on their reading level.

Donations to this project will help us get the supplies students NEED to support their success in reading.

Giving them immediate access to appropriate books will help them feel successful and expedite their growth. Getting these student on-grade-level in reading before the end of the year is essential for them to be successful in 3rd grade and beyond.
