My Project

Our classroom library is currently empty. Similar to encouraging healthy eating choices by making those foods easier to access (stocking your fridge with fruit and getting rid of the chip bags-- no judgement, chips are delicious), I want to make the habit of reading easier for my students by keeping a classroom library stocked with books they will enjoy during our daily silent reading time.

Reading for fun is a lost art, and my goal is to reincarnate that art through building a class library with engaging reads.

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and families and have a wide range of interests. A fantasy book featuring a teenage girl may engage one student while a graphic novel might engage another. This is why a variety of books need to be added to our little library so that all types of learners and readers can find something they enjoy to read.
