Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I want to expose my students to as many texts as I can during our literacy block. These mentor texts will help support my students in reading comprehension where we/they will be able to identify theme, plot, setting, character traits, etc. These books will be used for whole class instruction as well as small group.

Mentor texts are an excellent way to expose students to the skills that I am teaching.

Mentor text for the reading component will allow us to dive deeper to better understand a text. For the writing component, they will be exposed to different authors writing styles, which will later allow students to incorporate what they have learned in their own writing pieces.
