I need help providing my scholars with the most explicit, and systemic reading instruction through professional development.

My Project

"Put kids first" has always been my driving force in all decisions.

I believe reading is a RIGHT that ALL students have; they deserve explicit systematic reading instruction that is evidence and research-backed from highly knowledgeable teachers.

Teachers who not only understand how to deliver structured literacy lessons but can use effective assessment data, and teach all tier levels that students may need.

A. Learning Objective: Through a 30-hour IMSE Virtual Morphology Class, I will learn about teaching students with learning disabilities, Dyslexia, and teach structured literacy lessons that focus on comprehension, fluency, morphology, and vocabulary. They offer a variety of scheduling options throughout the year.

B. How will this learning Objective be achieved: I am requesting to take the IMSE Virtual Morphology professional development.

C. How will students benefit? This will tremendously support my structured literacy efforts. This structured literacy hands-on class will promote learning about the foundation of English and help students of all Tier Levels including students with reading disabilities.

Finally, I have completed much of my professional learning through podcasts, webinars, blogs, reading books, peer collaboration, school PD, and gracious donors who have funded scholarships for other professional learning opportunities. But I have exhausted much of this list now, thus creating this project to further my professional learning for current and future students.
