My Students

Imagine sitting in class with a book in front of you and not being able to read a single word. My students experience this daily. With a new listening center, they will be able to listen to these stories and fully participate in classroom lessons.

My fourth grade students have faced and overcome many challenges in their lives.

One challenge that they are still battling with is their inability to read. They have great background knowledge and would be able to add great ideas to classroom discussions if they could only read the texts!

My Project

If we had a listening center, my students would be able to personally listen to the same texts that all the other students are reading. By listening to texts we 'level the playing field'. They will have access to the same rich stories, classroom discussions and assignments. No longer will they feel as though they can't.

A new listening center will have a great impact on my students.

They will be able to have access to the same curriculum as all the other students. They deserve the right to be exposed to the same materials as the regular education students. A listening center will enable this to happen.
