My Project

This school year students will be encouraged to explore the media center by reading books from all facets of the Dewey Decimal system. A program has been created that will inspire students to read and summarize books from each section of the Dewey Decimal. Students will write summaries of the books they read and once the summary is submitted and checked, students will receive a snack. The program will also reward students for reading a specified number of books for each grading period.

It is hoped that this reading program will help to create well rounded students who are exposed to various types of information.

In general, students read what is familiar to them. This program will urge them to leave their comfort zones and explore. The fridge that is being requested will be used to store several of the snacks.
