My Project

My Students

I teach in an urban school in a very large school district.

Each school in our city, has it's own budget based on many different factors. There are 1.1 million students in the district.

Students should be given clear choices in how they work throughout the school day in the classroom. Students that have the ability to move around the classroom and know that they can go anywhere to work, work harder.

Students value and love to read each and every day. This year we have organized in our classroom a book challenge. How many books can you read in one school year? Where can you record all of the wonderful literature that you read this year?

Being prepared with the proper supplies, allows students to be successful in the work they are doing.

Having these notebooks to log their books, as well as, how they connected with that piece of literature will surely assist them in continuing on their journey to be successful readers and thinkers.
