Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Lions, and tigers, and bears! Oh, my! Stuffed animals like dogs, lizards, cats, bats, and farm animals will make great reading buddies for kindergartners as they practice reading words in isolation and in sentences. Practicing in front of teachers and students can often feel overwhelming, but practicing with a stuffed animal can take the pressure off and make reading fun.

When students have the opportunity to learn while playing, they are more likely to be engaged and build a positive attitude toward learning; students learn without fear or embarrassment.

Our school doesn't have a library and so our class library is even more important. Having stuffed animals will make picking books and independent reading a routine students will look forward to for the entire year.
