My Project

Reading and reading well is such an important factor for success in life. I want all of my students to make great progress in their reading abilities. That is why I want to join up with the PTA sponsored program of Battle of the Books. This program has selected 20 excellent books for this 2023-2024 school year. I would like to have plenty of copies of the 20 books in my classroom so that every student can at least be reading one of them at any given time. I make a big deal about each book they finish. It gives them such a feeling of pride and accomplishment to read each one and strive to complete all 20 books by the end of the year. Before they know it they are becoming excellent readers.

In my classroom I make every attempt to keep it very clean and sanitized for a healthy environment for the students.

The Air Purifier is one more attempt I would like to make to help control allergens and anything else in the classroom air. I want to make the classroom a healthy spot for student learning.

The white board markers are used by each student at their own desk (with their whiteboard) and also up at the front of the class on whiteboards. Fourth graders love to present their work. We really like to focus on modeling problems and situations first before we plunge into getting the final answers. This really helps them visualize all aspects of the problem. They can make sure they focus in on what the true problem is.

All of these items will bring out the great thinking processes in the students and make them very rounded thinkers and communicators. They are great thinkers. I want to take them to the next level.
