My Project

Most of my students come into kindergarten nonreaders, but throughout our year we focus on teaching them the skills to help them become readers by the time they are ready to move on to 1st grade. Some students take right off and others take a bit longer to get where they need too. These durable Lakeshore Reading Totes are made to last and perfect for my young students. My sweet students can focus on books at their very own level, which I can assign a color to each group so that I can easily grab the group's Totes that I need at Reading group time and give them on level material to practice. Then they can take it all home in their new Reading Bags to gain confidence reading to their families, while keeping their materials organized. These Tote Bags will go home each evening and have everything the kids need to work on. They will bring them back daily and we will flip items in and out as needed.

My students love to take books home to share with their families and these Reading Totes and leveled readers will allow them to engage their families in their learning at their level, while keeping things organized and easy to find!

They will be able to take books at their level home to read with them! The great thing about this project is they can take their Reading Totes home each evening and bring them back and trade them out with new books all at their level. I love the fact that these Reading Totes are engaging their families in their learning as well!
