This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

I teach at a Title I school where funding is very limited. My school doesn't even have a library for my students to enjoy, so I provide all of the library books myself. I teach students who read two or more grade levels below where they should be. I'm looking to create an area in my classroom that will help to foster a love of reading and help my struggling students.

With these supplies, I will be able to provide a welcoming atmosphere that will enhance their reading experience.

The flexible seating will allow them to feel comfortable and create a space that is most conducive to their learning style. There is also a classroom set of books so we can walk through a book together, step by step. Every item on this list is hand-picked to curate the ultimate reading experience.
